Will a RECEIVE-ALL work on either hand?
Yes, it will work on either hand. The only difference between left-handed and right-handed is the direction the straps go over the hand and forearm, and the side the locking bar pivots from. We give you the option because one configuration may be easier to manipulate over the other, depending on one's ability.
Can I change the direction the locking bar pivots?
Yes, the locking bar is held in place by a set screw, and it can be removed and placed in the other threaded hole to make it pivot in the opposite direction.
Do you make different size Arm Braces?
No, but we have sized the straps so they fit as wide a range of hand and arm sizes as possible. The cradle of the Arm Brace can also be sqeezed or expanded to help it conform to your arm. In addition, we include a piece of neoprene-foam tape for the forearm cradle of the Arm Brace, for those who have smaller arms. The neoprene is also great for anybody who wants a little added comfort.
Why is it spelled RECIEVE-ALL on the Adapters?
Like most mistakes, there is a story behind it. A mistake was made in the mold that is used to create the Adapters. After the mistake was noticed, a decision was made to keep moving forward so as to not further delay getting the product out. A 2nd decision was made to keep it as-is, and laugh about it!
What is a cable-tie?
Cable-ties are a type of fastener used to secure a variety of items. They are typically made from a nylon plastic. The cable-ties we include have small ridges along their length. One end has a clip, and when the other end is inserted the ridges allow it to be tightened, but do not allow it to loosen. The ridges are only on one side of the cable-tie, so it must be looped in the proper direction and not twisted.
Why do you use cable-ties to attach items to the Adapters?
There are many reasons we use cable ties. They are extremely versatile and adjust to many size handles. They are also inexpensive and can be purchased at hardware or auto-parts stores. Cable-ties are very strong and hold the items in the Adapters securely. The cable-ties we include with each purchase have a 40 lb tensile rating. We wouldn't be securing items with cable-ties if we weren't confident in their ability.
Can I operate the locking bar with limited hand dexterity?
Yes, the end of the locking bar extends past the Arm Brace enough so you can use the heel of your wrist, making it possible for someone with poor dexterity to operate the locking bar. In addition, there is a hole on the free end of the locking bar that can be used for adding a loop or ring, or a combination of both.
